Anita suicide story

 We will be sharing Anita’s story as a reference point.


As a teenage mother, who had just graduated from secondary school, Anita happened to get pregnant for her young lover. The news of this surprise was not taken lightly by her parents as they instructed her to abort the child as she alone would be responsible for catering to the child if she went otherwise. Anita refused and insisted on keeping the child. Her parents took her decision as a rebellion and sent her out of their house. Anita stayed in a friend’s house while trying to contact the child's father. Luckily she was able to reach out to him, but unfortunately the boy’s family denied the pregnancy. At this point Anita was 4 months pregnant, jobless and her friend tolerance was approachng its limit. Anita felt that she was becoming a burden to her friend and tried to get a job. All was to no avail as she could not get one with several attempts, so she decided to pay a visit to her family as the last option. Her father refused her presence calling her a useless child and all manner of names. He commanded no one in the family to offer her help as that would serve as her punishment. This left Anita devasted and encouraged her to commit suicide.

As for me, I blame everyone she had an enconter with in the story.

First of all is her parents. Its not like she planned to get pregnant. Such a PUNISHMENT was really unecessary. And where the hell was her mother?!!! Even after 4 months she didnt have enough compassion to convince the husband to forgive. I mean she of all people should have the experience of how painful pregnancy can be. And she just watched.

Then the boy’s family. Infact the boy. He just plainly denied everything, if that child had grown up to become succesful he won’t deny that child. I think people need to understand that children born out of wedlock are normal children. They are not cursed!!!! Take a look at Helen paul, Oprah Winfrey, even Steve jobs was born out of wedlock. If Anita’s unborn child grew up to be the next Steve jobs his grandparents would not have been able to forgive themselves. So we need to stop looking at mothers and children in such situation and as useless.

Finally I blame her friend, I understand that she stayed with her for 4 months, but for Anita to commit suicide, It could only mean that she was not geting enough support from her either. I can tell that Anita was going through mental stress, and people in such situation are very mentally fragile, they do not have a high degree of tolerance so having supportive friends can go a long way in helping them overcome these challenges.

From his story i can say that anita is very responsible and matture, The fact that she insited on keeping the pregnancy confirms i all. And even though I am against suicide, I dont blame her for commiting it. Most of us would say suicide is never the answer. But somehow we indirectly cause someone’s suicide mostly through what we say. I’m sure people made fun of her decision to keep that child and that indirectly is a cause for her suicide. We should learn to speak with caution, you dont just thow out whatever comes to yor head.
